These are priorities and proposals to explore, not programs that already exist. Each page lays out the issue, the thinking behind it, and where it could go.

  SUPPORT LOCAL ARTISTS + CREATIVES

  Evanston should be a city where emerging artists, musicians, filmmakers, designers and photographers can actually build careers.

• Issue 02

  SMALL + INDEPENDENT BUSINESSES

  A city environment where independent restaurants, shops, studios, startups and neighborhood businesses can thrive.

• Issue 03

  YOUNG PEOPLE SHOULD HAVE A VOICE

  More ways for high-school students, college students, young professionals and young entrepreneurs to participate in Evanston civic and cultural life.

• Issue 04

  CULTURE + NIGHTLIFE

  More concerts, art shows, film screenings, pop-ups, community gatherings, restaurants and evening programming, balanced with neighborhood needs.

• Issue 05

  PUBLIC SPACE

  Streets, parks, plazas, lakefront areas and public spaces that are more active, social and culturally engaging.

• Issue 06

  MAKING CITY GOVERNMENT EASIER TO ENGAGE WITH

  Clearer communication, better accessibility and more real opportunities for residents to participate.
