From community leadership to city leadership

George’s experience has not come from holding elected office. It has come from building projects from the ground up, organizing people around shared goals, managing teams, communicating publicly and creating opportunities for others.

He believes those skills can translate into local government: listening first, building coalitions, communicating clearly and turning ideas into action.

03Values

What leadership looks like

01

Listen

Good leadership starts by listening to residents before deciding what needs to change.

02

Build

George's background is rooted in building organizations, projects and programs from nothing.

03

Connect

Much of his work has involved connecting artists, businesses, creators and organizations that otherwise may not have met.

04

Communicate

Government should explain what it is doing in language residents can actually understand.

03Transferable skills

Experience that translates

These are not the same as government experience. They are leadership skills George believes carry over to serving the city.
